Any Tom, Dick, or Harry Can Get a Job: A Sure Fire Way to Land a Job by Kelly Wibbenmeyer

Preface:

It’s no secret that the economy has taken a turn for the worse leaving millions of Americans without jobs. With the current economic downturn, it’s forced some people to retire early, become jobless or even worse, they have no future job prospects. There are jobs out there and with the market downfall, only the elite few will get a call back and then even a smaller subset will get an offer. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry Can Get a Job presents sure fire ways to make you marketable even in the toughest economy. Along the way, readers will benefit from knowledge gained deep inside the closed doors of HR and managers, learning how to get your foot in the door, what to say once you have your foot in the door and what employers are really interested in once you get in front of them in an interview. The book strips away the media hype about how difficult it is to find a job and with a no nonsense tactic details how to overcome losing a job and prepares the reader how to stand out in all aspects from resume writing to the interviewing process.

About the Book:

In 2008, 2.8 million American’s lost their jobs and the number of unemployed America’s has already doubled in 2009 and the year isn’t over yet. The book I propose, based on my extensive professional experience, would be a job market bible, from resumes to what to wear the day of your interview, aimed and this huge and growing audience. The book would include steps to perfect your resume, get your foot in the employer’s door, and land the perfect job even in tough times. A recent headline in a CNN Money article states that by April 2009 (a meager four months into the New Year) over 2 million people have lost their jobs. By July the number of employed rose to 2.38 million and the US Bureau of Statistics just released this month that unemployment rates have been steady over the past few months. There are also 18.4 million people currently enrolled in college and 3.1 million people will be graduating in 2009. Any Tom, Dick, or Harry Can Get a Job: A Sure Fire Way to Land a Job will speak directly to the unemployed of today. It will be an informative guide which will enhance new time job seekers to make realistic goals and pave a path for job success in years to come. It will also assist people who have been unsuccessful in finding work in this staggering economy in not only finding work but finding a position that is fulfilling and better than the one they were released from.
